Kiki

Small but mighty!

Kiki is approximately 1 year (we're estimating) and 6 lbs. She came to us from an Innisfil shelter and has settled right in with her foster.

This girl loves EVERYTHING. All the toys, all the people (including kids!) and all the dogs. She doesn't show any fear with other dogs and is learning to greet them respectfully. She's getting some practice in with her foster brother who is very patient, but once he's had enough, Kiki will listen. She has not met any cats yet, but we're confident she would do well with them. In general, there have been absolutely no signs of aggression.

Kiki is fully housetrained—a quick learner! She is super speedy, full of puppy-like energy and has no problem keeping up on long walks. She also loves to snuggle up on the couch and relax with her human after a long day of playing with her favourite stuffies. Kiki does have a tendency to bark at other dogs and people walking past the house but her foster is working on correcting the behaviour.

Kiki is also crate-trained and will happily sleep in her crate all night without a sound. She does get worked up inside the crate when she sees someone coming or going but is being taught that that's not how she's going to get what she wants. Kiki knows how to sit and is learning to be patient at the door. It's clear she just really wants to do everything to make her person happy but has to contend with the attention span of a puppy. Getting her to re-focus is usually easiest with a treat and lots of praise.

Kiki is up to date on vaccines but will need to be spayed before adoption. She is not quite ready to go home but we are accepting applications on her now.
