Patches
What a sweetie!! Patches is a senior Jack Russell, approximately 15lbs, coming to us after her owner unfortunately passed away.
Patches is just a doll—fairly laid back and happy to just be around her people. She doesn't demand constant affection and is content to be your little shadow. She can be playful but often prefers to lounge about or have a nap.
She does, however, love to go out on her walks. She's generally very well behaved on leash and will walk right by your side. Patches can be hit or miss with strange dogs out on leash—sometimes she's totally fine with other dogs and will pay them no mind; other times, she will growl and bark at them. It's not recommended that she meet other dogs while on her lead.
She’s currently being fostered with children and doing great. It's easy for them to walk her and help take care of her, so she would do well in a home with kids. Patches has been fostered with other dogs and has done fine with them after introduction. She has also been introduced to and fostered with an easy-going cat which went well.
Patches is not doing great being left home alone for long periods of time. She is not used to it as her previous owner was retired. Ideally, Patches would do great in a home with someone who is retired or works remotely. Running out for a few errands while she's at home is generally not a problem, although she is also great in the car and can be a fun buddy to bring with you places if you choose!
Patches is housetrained, but is not crate trained, although she is not destructive when left home alone. She may not be the greatest option for a condo or an apartment due to the barking, however, she is not a barker when her person is home.
Patches is spayed and we are getting her up-to-date on vaccines so she will be available for adoption very soon.
