Bean

Meet Sweet Bean!

Bean, we believe, is a young Chocolate Lab mix and approximately 1-2 years old. She's small for a Northern dog (only 25lbs) and came to us all the way from Manitoba with two of her puppies.

Her story is a sad one—she was found tied to a park bench, malnourished, dehdyrated and unable to produce milk to feed her puppies. It took her rescuers over an hour to get her untangled and free. Even after everything she experienced, Bean is the sweetest pup you will ever meet. We can't believe how loving and affectionate this girl is; all she wants is love from her people!

Her foster family says Bean is an absolute joy to have in the home. She quickly made friends with her foster sister and has been a wonderful influence, teaching their pup to share without a hint of aggression over toys or space. Bean just wants to be everyone's friend, and her personality is fantastic—she would truly love to be anywhere with her people.

As she's gotten more comfortable, Coco Bean has shown us her delightful quirks. She is affectionately called a "Woo Girl" because she lets out an adorable little howl when she gets excited. Bean is highly motivated by treats and learns quickly, making training a breeze. She travels well in the car and enjoys accompanying her fosters on outings. On walks, she may cry when she sees another pup, but she can be easily redirected because she just wants to say hello.

At home, Bean has been accident-free and prefers to do her business during her daily walks. She settles quickly in her crate at bedtime and always greets you with a wagging tail in the morning. Bean has met a few children and seems to love their company.

We believe Bean would be a wonderful addition to any family but would especially thrive in an active home with or with some dog friends to play with.
She has not been tested with cats.

Bean still requires some vetting so she will not be ready to be adopted just yet, but we are accepting applications on her now.
